Welcome to TakeNote. TakeNote was founded as the Supplemental Lecture Note Service at Cornell University in 1985. Since then our organization has steadily improved and grown. The Chronicle of Higher Education called TakeNote one of the best notetaking services in the country (CHE, April 1992). TakeNote employs notetakers that make their notes for many popular classes available to further students' understanding of the material covered in lecture.
TakeNote lecture notes are taken and edited by graduate students who have the experience and the know-how to take notes that best capture the content of each lecture. Compare your own notes with TakeNote, and deepen your understanding of the material. TakeNote is more than a summary of each lecture. We provide a structure, highlighting the main points of each lecture (including graphs, diagrams, and summaries presented in class) that enables you to learn more from each lecture. Don't allow attending classes to amount to a four-year exercise in manuscript writing: by using your notes alongside TakeNote, you'll be surprised how much you will learn.
Here are some sample notes so you can see exactly how helpful TakeNote can be:
" I can actually listen to the lectures and not worry about having to write everything down. " " They are much better than any notes I could take in such a fast paced course. " " They are reliable notes that I can use to supplement my lecture notes- just in case I miss a point or don't understand my notes. " " They pull a lot of information out of the lectures that I miss in my own notes. " " My professor talks too fast for me to record everything in my own notes. " " The notes are very detailed, accurate, and provide me with more insight to the lectures. " " They read like second text, they're really helpful. " " They are so thorough. I can pay more attention in lecture to the professor and worry less about copying from the board. " " They add things I missed in lecture, and clear things up that I didn't quite understand the first time. " " I compare them to my own notes to see if I missed anything. " " They are typed neatly so they are much easier to read than my own notes. " " I can pay attention to general concepts without worrying about missing details. " " The graphs and diagrams are clear and concise. "
